Claude Code can take a site from brief to deployed in a single session. Learn how to direct it effectively and what makes an AI-built site actually convert.
When most people build websites with AI, they do it in pieces. Generate some copy here. Ask for HTML there. Paste code into an editor. Fix the CSS manually.
Claude Code does it differently. You give it the brief, the brand context, and the goal -- and it builds the full thing: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive design, deployment configuration. One session. Done.
The more context you provide, the better the output. A strong brief includes:
The basics:
- Business name and one-sentence description
- Who the target customer is
- The single most important action you want visitors to take (book a call, sign up, buy)
Design direction:
- Color palette or a reference brand: "build something like X but for Y"
- Sites you admire the look of
Content:
- Key sections needed (hero, features, testimonials, pricing, FAQ)
- Real copy if you have it, or instruct Claude to write it
Deployment target:
- Netlify, Vercel, GitHub Pages, or a local folder
Claude Code handles the deployment command. You do not need to know the CLI syntax.
The technical side is easy. The strategic side requires your input.
Claude cannot know without you providing it:
- Your specific customer pain points
- The objections your prospects raise on calls
- The language your customers use when describing their problem
- What has worked in previous campaigns
Claude handles automatically:
- Layout and visual hierarchy
- Copy structure and flow
- Responsive design and performance
- Accessibility basics
The more customer intelligence you provide in the brief, the better the conversion rate.
Claude Code compresses delivery time by 5-10x. A site that used to take 10 hours now takes 1-2 hours. This changes the economics:
The positioning: sell strategy and taste, use Claude Code for execution. Your value is knowing what makes a site convert -- not writing CSS by hand.
